Definitions

application deadline – the last date to submit an application for review for the next scheduled exam window without additional late fees.

application late deadline – the last date to submit an application for review for the next scheduled exam window with an additional $50 late fee. Applications are accepted for a 2-week period following the first application deadline and the application late deadline signifies the end of the additional 2-week period.

Authorization To Test (ATT) – This is the letter received from UPPCC after the exam scheduling fee is paid authorizing the candidate to take the exam. This letter includes candidate specific information needed for the candidate to schedule an examination appointment with Prometric.

contact hour(s) – refers to the actual number of clock hours spent in an education activity or the value placed on a variety of professional contributions to the procurement profession for recertification.

continuing candidate – certification candidates that have been previously approved for testing, but either missed, cancelled, opted not to schedule or were unsuccessful with the first testing opportunity under the 1-year active period of their application for certification. Continuing candidates are eligible for one final opportunity to test under the current application before reapplication is required.  

credit hour(s) – refers to the value of credit granted by a college or university for academic courses that attribute to a formal degree program. Each credit hour equals 16 contact hours of credit for UPPCC certification and recertification.

eligibility id – a system generated identification number associated with all details associated with a candidate’s testing. This id is needed for scheduling an examination with Prometric and is included in the candidate’s Authorization To Test (ATT) letter.

exam application window – This is the period of time when applications for certification can be submitted through the MyUPPCC online portal for the next scheduled certification exam window.

exam scheduling fee – This is the fee that is due from the candidate only after the application for certification is approved and reflects the candidate’s commitment to take the examination during the next exam window.

exam window – UPPCC offers examinations twice each year; May 1-15th
and October 17-31st. This two-week period is referred to as the exam window.

online submission – refers to an application (certification or recertification) that has been submitted online via the MyUPPCC account for review by UPPCC staff.

pending application – refers to an application (certification or recertification) that has been created by a MyUPPCC account-holder but has not yet been submitted for review by UPPCC staff.

Prometric – UPPCC’s official testing partner. Candidates will schedule an examination appointment directly with Prometric and the candidate will test via computer on-site at one of hundreds of Prometric testing centers located worldwide.  

Exam Schedule

All UPPCC certification examinations are administered via computer at a Prometric testing center. Examinations will be delivered daily, Sunday through Saturday at a time and location selected by the candidate. Beginning with the 2025 exam year, Spring examinations will be administered on May 1st – 15th and Fall exams will be administered on October 17th – 31st each year. Candidate exam results will be posted approximately eight (8) weeks following the close of the exam window. Please see the schedule below for exam deadlines.
