UPPCC Launches Digital Badges Allowing CPPOs and CPPBs to Showcase Achievement

Lexington, KY – December 18, 2019 - UPPCC today announced an exciting new partnership with Credly, the industry leader in digital credentials. Through this partnership, individuals who earn the CPPO and CPPB certifications will be given the opportunity to access and use a secure, verifiable and portable, digital representation of their certification achievement.

The badge can be added to a website, blog, email signature or shared via personal and professional networks. Once the badge has been added to your online presence, anyone who clicks on it will see what it took to earn and maintain it along with its expiration date.

“CPPO and CPPB are the recognized gold standards of achievement in public procurement,” said Kathleen Muretti, CPPO, CPPB, current Chair of UPPCC. “Individuals work hard to achieve and maintain them, and UPPCC is pleased to offer this great communication tool to help certified individuals promote their value to public procurement.”

Through associated skill tags, the digital badge provides a direct connection to available job opportunities that prefer or require the CPPO and CPPB certifications and the in-demand skills and expertise that these credentialed professionals provide.

“Providing digital badges offers an additional layer of recognition for certificants and allows employers and colleagues to better appreciate what CPPOs and CPPBs know and can do,” said Ann Peshoff, CAE, Executive Director of UPPCC.

"Earning a certification demonstrates a commitment to excellence in one's field and an investment of time and energy by motivated professionals," said Jonathan Finkelstein, CEO of Credly. "With its new digital credential offering, UPPCC provides certified procurement professionals with a form of recognition that increases the return on that investment through connection to career opportunities and trusted, real-time credential verification."

  1. All CPPOs and CPPBs will receive an email with instructions on how to claim the new digital badge.
